"robbed" is maybe an overstatement, but he definitely got a good deal. Demelo was maybe worth a 2nd instead of a 3rd, but no more than that.

he's solid in his own end, great character guy, but on a good team really should be a 4-5 guy.

I thought DeMelo came as advertised.

Not flashy, got better as the game went on, made the simple plays. Didn't notice him too much which is a plus for a d-man. A defense first type which is what the Jets certainly can use.

Captain Obvious - I am pretty sure the Sens might have got more for DD if he wasn't a UFA. Maybe surprised they didn't have it as a conditional 2nd if DeMo re-signed in The Peg. Maybe Chevy balked at that idea?

I enjoyed this article Wesley. The Jets looked good but they should against a weak Ottawa team. A bigger test against the Flyers coming up so I hope they keep rolling out 3 lines and play most of the game in Philly's zone

Better take advantage of the Sens now - they are going to have a very good team in a couple of years. Good young players and prospects and lots of draft picks.

If anyone was thinking about a potential Hamonic signing this summer, is De Melo a better option?

I have not looked at stats, but I am wondering if De Melo basically is a "like" player as Hamonic, maybe Hamonic light?

Just thinking out loud but interested what others think?

Jets playing Ottawa was a timely game as it gave Chevy and extra opportunity to chat with Dorion one-on-one and for Maurice to get some live perspective on the scouting front. With guys like Namestnikov and Pageau out there on the table as pending UFA's you can bet they were talking all possible angles.

He'd be Toby Enstrom re-incarnated if he just played with a 7' stick. No offense, not a shooter, but positionally he's an A+, with mobility, vision. A great pick-up for a team lacking RD depth.

I would think that both Chibisov and Niku will play in the Buffalo game. It will give some other Jets a rest on the back-to-back before the Washington series starts. Its at least one advantage of starting to get some depth again.

That's a hefty price the Bruins paid for Andre Kase, who might end up on the third line. Under the same logic, it means the Jets would get even more for Adam Lowry.

As for me. I'm not big on many Russians in this league come playoff time. Ovechkin, Radulov, maybe Kucherov come to play every night but not too many others. I'd take Trocheck over Namestsnikov any day. Also, Namestsnikov had higher value when with Florida. He's dropped in value ever since. Lowry's value might be lower only because of his current injury, otherwise, he easily gets more value than Andre Kase.

It's a big improvement IMO, our 4th line had to be one of worst in league. Now, when Lowry and Perreault return - Perreault-Lowry-Eakin - hey, I don't mind that.

Not really buying or selling but shaping the team for going forward. With both an extra d and forward the option to make a move from either position is stronger. It is solid management.
